But here’s what most procurement teams discover only after the machine arrives: CE marking on a nameplate doesn’t guarantee conformity with EN 60204-1 (electrical safety), EN 1870-5 (woodworking machinery safety), or even correct documentation traceability—especially when machines are built to order and shipped from Asia.

They all pass CE lab tests. What separates the usable from the problematic is how they handle *real-world drift*—belt stretch over 8,000 operating hours, thermal expansion of cast-iron frames in unheated Canadian warehouses, or voltage fluctuations in rural Spanish industrial parks.
That’s why we advise procurement teams to request two things before signing: (1) the supplier’s last 3 years of field-reported failure modes for the same model, and (2) proof of spare parts cross-referencing—i.e., whether a “contact drum assembly” part number matches exactly between the CE file’s Bill of Materials and the current spare parts catalog. Inconsistencies here almost always signal outdated documentation or modular redesigns done without re-certification.
